Sophie Tabor - Physiotherapist

Sophie is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and Personal Trainer with 8 years’ experience helping people recover from injury and get back to what they love doing.  She has worked with a range of athletes from rugby players, pentathletes, triathletes and runners.

Starting out as an NHS Physiotherapist, she then moved to private work in London, which included acute injury management rugby and work alongside a variety of strength and conditioning specialists developing her interest in getting athletes stronger and more resilient. She recently moved out of London and now works at a clinic in Wiltshire and remotely as a consultant for Strength For Endurance.

“A lot of the injuries I see are fully preventable and I am passionate about working with athletes to help them build a strong foundation and reduce the training errors that lead to recurrent injuries. Kriss and I are working together to help optimise performance, rehab journeys and longevity of athletes.”

In her spare time Sophie loves being on the trails or off on an adventure somewhere, mixing it up with trail running and triathlon events. After curiosity got the better of her she just completed her first ultra-marathon event.

Dan Dunford - SFE Coach

As part of the SFE Coaching team, Dan’s background in Sports Science & Coaching laid the foundation for his further interest in endurance coaching. He enjoys working with individuals on the finer details, building trust, and helping them achieve the challenges they have set for themselves. Personally he loves adventure and the overall challenge that sport brings. Living on the coast, watersports came naturally to him and it was his love of sea swimming that started his triathlon journey.

With a background in Emergency Medicine and General Practice alongside 17 years service in the military, Ruth now tailors her work more specifically to looking at the factors that underpin our individual experiences of health and wellness: genetics, lifestyle habits, energy imbalances and the link between the gut and brain to name a few.

Many of our clients work with Ruth to investigate areas such as their bloods, hormones and diet, which might be holding them back from optimal health and performance.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

It’s a long-held belief in the training community that pain is just part of the game; that we should be putting up with injuries, aches and daily pains as part of the pursuit of better performance.

However, pain can be a warning sign of a much bigger problem that’s just down the road. The reality of those niggling pains, or ignoring irregular or absent periods, can lead long term damage, bone stress fractures, REDs and even fertility issues for both men and women.

We’re here to change that.

As well as strength training, your hormone levels, blood-work and bone strength are all taken into account. By facilitating health and performance,
we aim to turn preconceptions on their head, and help you to listen to the warning signs before they can take effect.

We use strength and conditioning as a framework to teach the other elements needed for recovery: how to monitor and manage the amount of work you're doing, incorporate better nutrition, and integrate all of this into your lifestyle.

You can then apply this framework for the rest of your life.

“WE OPTIMISE YOUR TRAINING BY CONSIDERING THE VARIABLES YOU'RE NOT.”
